Vanetta Joffe
1959 Graduated in Geography and English from the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa.
1960 High school teaching diploma, College of Education, Johannesburg.
1965 Emigrated with family to the UK. During the following years, attended various evening classes in painting and life drawing.
1978-1982 Diploma with distinction in Graphic Design, Swindon College of Art and Design.
1982-1984 Studio work in graphic design at Oxfam.
1985 Painting course with Open College of Arts.
1986-onwards Concentrated on producing design work for various charities as well as illustration work for the Crowood Press, Swindon, and learning Apple Mac based computer graphics.
1995 Concentrated on fine art, painting and drawing, attending life drawing classes and workshops in colour theory. Apart from these classes, largely self-taught.
2000 Joint exhibition of paintings in the Seminar Room, Royal College of Pathologists, London, with Felicia Kentridge.
2001-2003 Participation in various group exhibitions with Swindon Artists; Swindon Open Studios, Marlborough Open Studios, Age Concern charity exhibitions.
2004 'The Male and Female Form', Swindon Open Studios, Gallery 39, .
2005 Open Studios in collaboration with David Bent.
